Born in the Guizhou province of China, Faded Ghost, AKA ChaCha, is a singer, DJ and producer who is well regarded in Shanghai’s musical underground. As well as being the first artist from mainland China to be a participant at RBMA, she’s a fierce toaster for the reggae crew Uprooted Shanghai, the vocalist for trip-hop duo AM444 and under her Faded Ghost alias, a producer of broken beat. At the 2011 Academy in Madrid, she met and started working with fellow alum Phoebe Kiddo – their project, Kiddo&ChaCha, resulted in a four-track EP called _Broken & Sexy_. Recently, Faded Ghost has worked with bass-heavy dub and industrial artists such as Kode9, Adrian Sherwood and the Bug.
