After coming to the 2003 Academy in Cape Town as a participant, DJ and producer Eli Iwasa returned to her native São Paulo and became dedicated to the city’s techno underground. She fell in love with the sounds of post-punk and industrial, before techno became an inspiration - she spent seven years as a resident DJ at Lov.e Club’s Technova party, as well as running her own radio show and her own venue, Club 88, in the Brazilian city of Campinas. In recent years, she’s focused on DJ-ing and making music – the latter with Marco A.S. (formerly Click-Box) as Bleeping Sauce, which brings together her early love of post-punk and synth wave music with her contemporary love of techno.
