Dream Cycles came to the 2016 Academy in Montréal as a participant, after finishing studies in Fine Art at NCAD in Dublin. An artist working largely with sound and moving image, she continues to develop her work as DJ and producer based in Dublin. Her DJ sets go through multiple genres from sound art to electro, trance, IDM and ambient pop; she is interested in communal musical experiences, where people are exposed and may open up to sound practices that extend beyond the club. “Recorded sounds have always been a way for me to depart from our material world and enter a space beyond,” she says. A number of collaborations, performances and an upcoming release will be surfacing in 2018.
