Description
In early 2017 esteemed _New Yorker_ staff writer Hua Hsu – fresh off penning a biting post presidential election essay, "What Normalization Means" – joined fellow record collector/obsessive Chairman Jefferson Mao on Across 135th Street to spread some musical cheer. Digging deep into his collection of elusive wax, Hua played only records exuding good feelings and positivity, offering a lovely if brief respite from the despair encroaching from all sides. Well things in the world have progressed so well in the year since that Hua returns to Across 135th Street with another batch of tunes intended to uplift and stave off anguish, surveying classy 70s steppers soul, 80s disco boogie, Nigerian and Haitian obscurities, 60s sunshine pop and psyche and much more.
