Utterly unique within the landscape of soul soirees on the continent, T$C managed the trick of being both elite and populist at once – a convergence of top-shelf rare soul tunes spun by dudes in sharp suits to the delight of an unpretentious mixed crowd of lovely party people. No trainspotting B.S., just fun. T$C has since been voluntarily retired, but party co-founder Etienne Trinidad lives to dig another day.
