Bandcamp Daily | Paul Hillery

Andy Thomas was writing an article for Bandcamp Daily - 'A Goldmine for Beat Diggers in the ’90s, Folk Funk Makes A Comeback' and asked me to add some information about the type of tracks I was digging that featured on Bandcamp. So I provided a list of tracks and some words to explain my choices. Before the genre police jump on me and say that none of my choices are folk-funk tracks, I tried to provide some reference to where the beat digging from the 90s has taken me musically. My musical influences came less from folk-funk dancey tunes and more sunshine pop ear candy as I was never a dance type of DJ and always more an archivist - making people dance for 4 hours was far too stressful for me. Saying all that it is a lovely piece written by Andy just follow the link and perhaps buy some of the wonderful music.
