Floating, drifting, weightless.... Space jazz has been around since Sun Ra first claimed his Jupiterian citizenship, the expansive feelings often conjured in modal and spiritual acoustic music evolved with the advent of crossover styles and electric instrumentation into something of a genre in itself. Indeed there are almost endless possibilities within this theme, and it would be easy to just segue endless permutations of that classic sound, mellifluous Fender Rhodes and laid back grooves. However I wanted to explore something beyond those obvious tropes as well. For there is space in the rhythm, within the intensity of woven patterns there is deep peace in the eye of the storm.
