Anyone who knows me well will know that spring is my favourite time of year. January and February in the U.K. are nearly always a challenge, even in more positive times, let alone with the events of the past few years as a backdrop. But - as Ann Bradstreet said - "If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant".
For me, there’s something special about the transition from the tail end of winter into those first days of spring. The feeling of relief and optimism as sun, warmth and new life break through the bleakness of winter, the cold and the grey. When everything becomes green again. When there’s a noticeable increase in activity both in nature and ourselves.
In a nutshell, this mix is a selection of songs that I feel capture that feeling - as well as some of the other moods of the season - and flows linearly from the first few days to the last, cold to warm, or morning until sunset on a perfect spring day.
