On the 53rd episode of Your Favorite DJ's Favorite DJ, I was joined by Freddy Sugden aka Medallion Man, a London based DJ, founder of Threads Radio and the Loose Lips record label. I opened the show with a blend of deep soulful house and some skittering tech house and then sat down for a conversation with Freddy where he shared his most recent experience being a part of the legendary Movement festival this past May and why he’s fallen in with the city of Detroit. We also chatted about the impact the “Windrush” generation has had on British pop culture and his own musical journey as a youth, how has leveraged music as a tool for community organizing and some of the other projects he finds himself immersed in. We then listened to a recently track from Loose Lips, one of Freddy’s favorite tracks and broke down why they resonated so much with him.
