On the 50th installment of YFDFD, I had the opportunity to connect with DJ, producer, Jersey legend and house music pioneer Mark Francis. I opened up the show with a mix of Monique Bingham, Bucie, and Fela remixes and then chopped it up with Mark. He spoke on how house music is ingrained in New Jersey's culture, his introduction to house music and DJing, and how he went from hooping at Branch Brook Park one day to him joining Timmy Regisford's vaunted Shelter as an A&R. Mark then shared his first favorite house track and other tunes that resonate with him and why they are so special. To end the show, Mark Francis brought us home with a trademark mix of deep, soulful and afro-house. You can find Mark on IG at @markhfrancis Big thanks to @bunkr.bunkr for hosting. Thank you as all ways to my brother Tai for mastering and editing the show. Thank you to Mark Brinda and Newtown Radio for giving me the space to do my thing. And of course thank you to our listeners for your continued support!
