Harlem's Bobby Robinson folds Red Robin Records, opens Whirlin Disc; folds Whirlin Disc, starts Fury and Everlast Records; further development in doo-wop, as the genre struggles to maintain growth in the late fifties; a North Carolinian moves to NYC, names himself Tarheel Slim, records the greatest black rockabilly single ever to come out of New York City; Bobby gets his #1 hit.
