In the last 2 years I have been producing all kinds of electronic music. I needed a mix that would showcase this work, so departing from my normal routine of doing an all drum and bass mix, I decided to make a multi-genre mix. ( the Enson Crusha and Oh Shit! tunes in the mix are all my original work!)
Along with the fact that I have been producing in all different styles, this mix is also a reflection of what I believe the current state of electronic music has become. It is becoming increasingly rare that a dj just plays one style of music all night. In a sense this time is like a return to the beginnings of electronic dance music. No one had any notion of genres, and we were all just there to hear beats, no matter what the tempo...
