Hi folks, here's my Christmas present to you lot, a selection of old favourites, some lesser known stuff and a couple of novelty items which should make for an interesting 2 hours listening. Of the new stuff, how could I have missed Dennis Alcapone's version of "Once Upon A Time" utilising one of the heaviest rocksteady rhythms ever put down? Wow. Talking of Al Capone, here's Emperor Rosco's version from 1970, recorded with help from none other than Clancy Eccles. He recut it in 1974 but this is pure Skinhead Reggae style. There's the usual smattering of some of my regulars (Clarendonians, Alton Ellis, Skatalites) but the last word goes to the joyous, youthful sounds of the late Steve Collins with his "Ding A Ling Ting A Ling", far from the greatest record ever made but one that should leave a smile on your face. Thanks to everyone following me on Mixcloud for your support, and thanks for listening. Cheers and a very Happy Christmas,
Pete.
