1978 was a terrible year for Northern Soul, music wise. I didn’t miss a week at The Casino but it wasn’t for the love of the music – it was for the camaraderie and not wanting to miss seeing all your mates. This is undoubtedly a truly dreadful Northern Soul years, but there’s no hiding from the truth, and these are the sounds that were being played not just a Wigan, but all over the country. To spare you the misery, all of the dregs are played in the first hour so you can fast forward past those. Thank goodness the quality improved massively in 1979!
