I discovered Steve Tibbetts back in college when I got his first two albums at a used record store. I loved those first two LPs, and I still love them. He signed with ECM in 1982 and I knew that was a match made in heaven. Tibbetts has been putting out great music ever since.
ECM recently released a career retrospective double album called "Hellbound Train: An Anthology." After listening to it multiple times I knew that I had to make a spotlight mix featuring Tibbetts' music. The mix is constructed chronologically, starting with his first independent release in 1977.
