Featuring contributions by Mulatu Astatke, Fela Kuti, Letta Mbulu, Lijadu Sisters, etc. And genres such as jazz fusion, early afrobeat, disco, and garage rock.
Hour 2: we listen to the music of the 21st century, as the continent continues seeing explosive growth in almost all aspects. And with it, growing presence in the music industry and access to various types of artists. We center this hour on dance music, ft genres such as Afrobeat, House, Gqom, Pop, and artists such as Wizkid, Babes Wodumo, DJ Maphorisa, etc before finishing off with the some amazing, groundbreaking guitar songs from the Sub-Sahara.
