A UK hip-hop mix with a self explanatory title; all tracks from between 1999 and 2007.
Recently I'd pondered over whether UK hip-hop was worse than it was a few years ago, less talked about, less promoted, or maybe if it was just that I don't keep my ear to the ground for it like I used to.
I concluded that it would be harsh of me to declare it to be flagging, or even worse; dead. I put it down to perhaps not having the same desire to discover new music from within the UK hip-hop scene anymore - and that's just a natural (and personal) thing. I hold no malice towards it. Definitely hold some malice towards the politics and shenanigans over the years, though!
Anyway... it prompted me to chuck together a quick mix containing some of my favourite UK hip-hop tracks, and I focussed on stuff from the turn of the last century to about 2006/2007, which is probably when I stopped actively supporting UK hip-hop (for better or worse).
