Origins 8 - Classic Rare Groove Soul (1966-1982)

The Origins series is all about celebrating and paying tribute to the pioneers and inspirators of modern house music and hip-hop who laid the foundations during the late 60s to early 80s. It's easy to spot samples and styles borrowed from these timeless tracks used in modern dance music today but it's always the originals that last the test of time.

Origins 8 covers Soul performers from this era with a special nod to the renowned Soul Train show hosted by Don Cornelius in Chicago for 35 years. Most, if not all, of these tracks were featured on Soul Train at one time or another so it's an "awesome mix" for us oldies and an education for the youngsters.
