John Keyworth - Heavenly 9

It’s back to long balmy nights round these parts and I’m back on the chilled tunes, so I reckon it’s about time I got off my arse (and away from that baby!) and did something with them.

Let me introduce this month’s offering – Heavenly 9, a mellow, semi-mixed collection of sleepy vocal lounge tracks drawing influence from many genres such as soul, funk, blues, trip hop, ambient, samba and jazz. Every track is spot on the mark, but make sure you check out track 2 for a beautiful jazz remix of an old Hull favourite that used to get hammered to death in the early 90s.

The Heavenly series has always been about nice laid-back tunes that I just have knocking around in the iPod for mellowing out to, and this one is no exception. It’s back to the jazz, ladies and gents!
