Description
It's exactly 50 years since 'Ernie' by Benny Hill was no.1, so it's the perfect excuse!
For months you've been sending your suggestions into the show, and we'll be playing the best of those this week, plus Johnnie will add in a few of his own personal favourites that haven't cropped up yet, but fit the criteria for being 'One Of A Kind'.
They're often bizarre records that seemed to arrive from nowhere, and sounded like nothing else that was around at the time. But somehow they got stuck in our heads, we bought them, and they became a sort of guilty pleasure to us all. Think one-hit wonders, strange career diversions from well-respected and long-established stars, daft novelty songs, and even incredible debuts that stopped you in your tracks when they first burst out of the radio.
It's a celebration of the pop mavericks who tried something different from the norm.
