Duran Duran was formed in Birmingham by keyboardist Nick Rhodes and bassist John Taylor in 1978. When the band emerged, they were considered part of the New Romantic Scene. The group have since sold more than 100 million records and have had 14 singles in the Top 10 of the UK Charts.
