Description
As some followers know, the title of a new mix always carries one or more deeper meanings. In this case, Legacy refers to the enormous influence Nile Rodgers and (the late) Bernard Edwards (who passed away exactly 30 years ago) had on the dance music of the '80s, '90s, and '00s, back when it was still made with real instruments and not with a DAW. This duo was not only the heart of the band Chic, but also wrote number 1 hits for numerous other artists (David Bowie, Madonna, Diana Ross, Daft Punk, Sister Sledge, etc., etc.).
I really enjoy the fact that there are DJ Producers nowadays creating new tracks in a style similar to Chic. These producers (such as Tommy Glasses, Stacey Kidd, Sean Scanlan, Michael Grey, MonoDeluxe) are not yet widely known to the general public, but their tracks are of very high quality. And that atmosphere is present in my new mix. It's a Lovely Legacy
