I was literally stopped in my tracks. Devastated. I wouldn't consider myself a dedicated and devoted fan, but I have always adored him. I couldn't post anything that hasn't been posted or pondered already, so here are the tracks that the first sentence in this post could be related to. The tracks that, from first exposure, resonated and were instantly important to me as an appreciator and musician alike. If, at any stage, my image conscious younger counterpart questioned if it was cool to like Prince, one of these tracks would be like a personal message from the master himself damning me for ever questioning his cred. There are no effects, no tricks or beat matching. Just my personal favourite songs end to end in all their purple funky glory. I'm so very sad.
