Description
If you're going to put on a party, do it right. Give a shit about the venue, get some good sound in, make an effort to gather a lovely crowd. And find the time to book DJs you really like, not who will fill your place cos they just did an RA podcast, for fuck's sake.
Essentially, it's about doing it cos you want everyone to have the best night of their lives, in the way you'd like to have the best night of your life. This was the ethos I had when I promoted PEG, and it's the same ethos shared by Bohemian Grove in Manchester. The promoter of that party, Taff, gives a shit. The residents, Rick Nicholls, Damo B and Johnny Abstract, give a shit. And the people who go give a shit. And that makes guest DJs give a shit as well.
Which is why, before I was asked to play at the night's 1st birthday party, I made a podcast for the BG blog. I actually thought about a mix for a change, and really dug deep to find some oddball gems, new and old, so that the BG crowd knew I gave a shit too.
