My buddy Edson (https://www.mixcloud.com/ergimenes , @ergimenes) treated us to two of his amazing Brasilian mixes this week, and I was so inspired by them, I had to pull together a mix of my own. The title comes from one of his comments.
I am always amazed at the variety and quality of Brasilian music, and although it wasn't deliberate, I think this particular mix provides a great sampling of music from Brasil in many of its forms: Samba, Tropicália, Forró / Baião, Bossa Nova, Pop, Funk, Samba Gospel, Batucada, etc. (And one Italian act in the mix, but one can be forgiven for including Nicola Conte!)
And we have representation from 1960 to 2025 in this mix. Some deep cuts mixed in with more familiar tunes.
I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed pulling it together.
