Yesterday was my birthday, and, instead of going hard with the party music, I indulge myself by pulling together a collection of songs that make me smile.
Some of the smiling is due to amusement at the lyrics, or due to how the music makes me feel, whilst other songs remind me of people (especially Mrs. G), places, moments, or periods in my life. Or the song conveys a bit of wisdom that one can always benefit from hearing again.
If you're not a country music person feel free to skip ahead to track 5, but not until you hear (at about 00:05:30) why the second track is the perfect country & western song. You haven't lived until you find yourself in a conga line singing along to this song at the top of your lungs with everyone else.
