Today I bring you some recent edits and reimaginings of 70s disco that prove these tracks lose nothing in contemporary translation. From Eurodisco through soul-tinged house - all rooted in that decade's musical DNA.
Not everything here is strictly disco, and maybe one or two tracks technically cross into the 80s (and one from the past year), but this mix is definitely a child of the 70s. Like me.
This mix probably wouldn't exist without Pe from The Twelve Inch; his weekly mixes ( https://www.mixcloud.com/pedupre/ ) and Substacks ( https://www.thetwelveinch.be/ ) on disco history have been indispensable in my disco education. I highly recommend following his work, though I'm sure one or two choices here will make him cringe.
