They say that men are romantics pretending to be practical and women are pragmatists pretending to be romantic. For me and Mrs. G. this checks out, but we're both way past the point of pretending!
We usually forget our anniversary, as it follows a week after the birthday of Little Miss G's older sister. By some miracle I have managed to remember this year.
A surprise collection of songs that either mean something to the two of us or that remind me of moments with her. She will dismiss this as the silly gesture of a soppy old git, and she won't be wrong. (And she will probably not like a few of them!)
And not a day goes by where I am not grateful that on that night, oh so long ago, despite wanting to stay in to recover from a succession of late nights that week, I had an overwhelming feeling that I would miss out on something if I didn't meet up with a work mate to crash a house party in South London.
