I recently saw an ad for a special 60th anniversary cassette edition of an album that was last released as a cassette in 1986...which I owned...

It hit me that, in 1986, I was closer in time to the first release of the original LP, which was ancient history to me then, than I am today to that last cassette release.

Many tracks on this mix can trace their origins to as far back as the 60s, like me.

I constantly marvel at the way remixers can dip into the ancient past and bring back nuggets of pure gold. But it only goes to underline what a wise man once said: '...It's still rock 'n roll to me.'
