Part 7 from the Straight from the Vaults series. This is the Stax story. After the Motown session it's time to go deep down south. Stax was founded in 1961 by Jim Stewart and his sister Estelle Axton (STewart/AXton = Stax) and became together with Motown the most important soul label of the 60's and early 70's.
