Soul and funk have been around since the end of the 1950's and early 1960's and have never been gone since. Lately however the genre has made a marvelous comeback with the succes of labels like Daptone, Truth and Soul and Freestyle and becomes more and more popular every day.
Old heroes released some of their best work in the last couple of years and young stars pick up the soul feeling really good with amazing tunes and great albums.
This is the first set in which I selected 21st century soul and funk tunes that pay tribute to the authentic style.
