Description
[Special guest Wreckless Eric] Graham Parker burst on to the British music scene in the mid 1970’s in the aftermath of Pub Rock. His début album Howlin Wind 1976 led to packed out UK tour where the The Rumour were supported by Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes. The EP The Pink Parker was a hit and led to four consecutive UK Top 20 albums, most of which went into the Billboard Top 50 stateside. Supporting Bob Dylan in 1978 at Blackbush Airport, Parker was cited as Britain’s answer to the great man. The band split in 1980 and Parker left for America. Over a dozen solo albums were produced over 3 decades. Cast as himself in 2011 in Judd Apatow’s Hollywood comedy 'This Is 40' Parker came to international attention once more. A documentary portrait in 2012 led to the reformation of The Rumour and a whole night on BBC 4. The CD Three Chords Good showed the band to be back on form. 2 nights at Shepherd's Bush Empire 6/7 June in London. Henry: Producer/Presenter. Photo by Jerry Tremaine
