Spy Austin began playing bass guitar with the London-based Reggae band Matumbi, whilst still at school. He went on to form the 'Lovers Rock' Reggae outfit The Investigators in the early 1980's. He has played and recorded with Desmond Dekker, George Clinton, The Style Council, Tim Hain, and Sam Kelly's Station House, with whom he still plays.
