Description
Mickey Jupp formed The Orioles in the days of original The R 'n' B Boom in Southend, Essex back in 1964. Next up came Legend in 1969 produced by Bowie and Bolan producer Tony Visconti. Legend had 3 albums out on Vertigo. During the 1970's Pub Rock boom he was back on the road and later famously as a part of The Stiff Records' label and their 1979 Be Stiff Tour. 'An old rock 'n' roller' at heart Mickey has written some damned fine songs. His talent is so diverse that his output has been covered by everyone from The Judd's to Dr Feelgood, Nick Lowe to Ricky Nelson, The Kursaal Flyers to Elkie Brooks, The Searchers to Wilko Johnson and Gary Brooker to Dave Edmunds. Mickey reformed Legend on July 19th and 2oth 2013 at the Riga Bar in Westcliff, Southend. He had a new album out that year entitled, Naughty Boy. On May 29th 2013 Resonance 104.4 fm transmitted this 1 hour show. In 2015 Mike Wade's biography of Mickey, Hole My Pocket, came out exclusively through Amazon. Henry Scott-Irvine
