Chalkie Davies is arguably Britain's finest Rock photographer from NME's golden age - the 1970's. In the 1980's he joined The Face and later Arena magazine. During April 2014 he had a small exhibition featuring the best of his work in Piccadilly, London. On April 1st 2014 Chalkie gave me this exclusive interview, his first ever one hour radio special, which we broadcast live on Resonance 104.4 fm London. The summer of 2015 had The Museum of Wales in Cardiff, stage a full Chalkie Davies retrospective. It was the largest photographic exhibition of any Rock Photographer in the UK ever to be staged and a BBC Wales-BBC Four documentary ensued. His work with acts such as The Faces, The Who, David Bowie, Thin Lizzy, Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Blondie, The Ramones, The Clash, and The Specials remains 'iconic'. These photographs are second to none. Henry Scott-Irvine Producer/Presenter. (Photo credit Justin Thomas. Taken in The Photo Gallery 12 Piccadilly Arcade, London).
