Here's something I've been wanting to revisit for a long long time... In telling the story of the role music played in changing my life, I failed to really focus on the days when I would listen to the records my uncle played on Sunday mornings while we cleaned house during the late 70s. I listened, bought my own and occasionally "borrowed" my fair share. It was one of the many life affirming moments that would come to shape me from the musical perspective. This mix represents some of the tunes I used to hear. There is a decided disco vibe as the image of Diana Ross up in the booth at Studio 54 suggests. Of course I would have loved to be old enough to go there just once back in the day, even better, play a set there. Anyway, I digress. I was equally inspired by one of my all time favourite movies "Thank God It's Friday", which I still contend that that is what "This Is Spinal Tap" would have been if it were a Disco flick. Turn up the volume to 11 and enjoy :)
