Even though I might (Eclectic Playlist Series 9.07)

It's the latest Eclectic Playlist Series mix, with 20 songs blending genres and decades into one reasonably coherent whole. Fourteen of the 20 artists featured this month have yet previously to appear in an EPS mix, dating back now eight and a half years. Highlights include the title track from Joan Shelley's resplendent new album, an Elton John ballad that's the quirkier, more oddly satisfying precursor to "Someone Saved My Life Tonight," a hat tip to Radiohead's disregarded debut, a late-'70s American new wave nugget, and a Kate Bush song that makes you wonder if the Duffers had her in mind from the beginning.
