Saturday May 27th, 2017 we celebrated the life of Ron "Birdy" Birdsall. I met Ron when I was in the early stages of my dj career in the gay scene. I was struck by his warm personality, sense of humour & playful charm. we became fast friends and he welcomed me into his world and wonderful circle of friends. he was the kind of guy you could get rip roaring drunk with but could also count on for sage advice navigating life & love.
when Ron's partner Jeff asked me to put together a Tea Dance set for the celebrations I went back into my collection of uplifting, funky, disco & commercial house that I would've been playing around the time I met Ron and throughout our friendship. I miss him dearly but I'm thankful for the time he was in my life.
