"Funk never dies. It is eternal. It just smells a little different from time to time." Questlove That 2017-2018 chunky funkiness you crave (108-129bpm)
As a bit of a hobby, I've been making mixes of different genres & eras to sharpen my production skills. This is a simple jazzy/funky mix containing tracks & remixes released in the last 6mths or so, but that samples & references earlier influences. Ironically, this one was thrown together in the wee hours under the influence of Pina Colada cider, with little care for fine tuning 🤣
For a challenge, I'm thinking the next will be a mix of 80's music, no modern remixes allowed, only 7" & 12" versions from the era.
Until then, have a listen to this mix. It's mostly instrumental grooves to begin with. My favourite is the track that sounds like hot jazz from the 1930's. You'll know it when you hear it.
