This should be interesting for the "connoisseur".I fiddled around with some of it but left the rest mainly as it was. Santana is in fact a Jazz Fusion band starting in the late '60's as "The Carlos Santana Blues Band" they went through several phases and re-inventions always keeping a "Latin" identity with a strong rhythm section characteristic of the "Santana" sound.I recommend "Borboletta" and "Caravanserai" those albums are in my opinion the best he's ever recorded.Pure Jazz Fusion.No comparison to the shit he's doing now anyways.The Jazz Fusion records were a genre in itself which influenced other musicians and therefore are a valuable contribution to Jazz. The "new" whatever you wanna call it on the other hand sounds just like a pathetic old man trying to please a public of teenagers who obviously have no fucking idea who Carlos Santana is,or more accurate was...worse they don't give a shit.
