Shebeen is Irish for an illegal Bar... I used to run one jointly with my Landlady in Tangier,doing the music and the Bar...that was loads of fun.That's also when I came up with combining the "El" with "Shebeen" making it sound like an Arabic word...which then gave me the idea of combining western and eastern music...
