Urfavoritedeejay ***MONDAY MASHUP*** If you know me, then you know favorite lyricist of all time is Detroit’s very own ELZHI @elzhi . And my favorite producer is the late great J. Dilla @officialjdilla 🙏🏾 If you’re familiar with either then you know the connection (Slum Village @officialslumvillage ).
S/o to my best friend Sean Hernandez @seanalexander85 (super DOPE MC/Producer/Videographer) @culture.international , who allowed me the opportunity to meet and shake hands with El. It was incredible to sit in the next room and hear El drop science on my bros beats. That’s a lifetime memory I’ll NEVER forgot and will eternally be grateful for. Thank you for that, Sean 💯❤️💪🏾
So this #MondayMashup is dedicated to my favorite rapper, with the remake of Nas’s @nas illmatic song “Halftime”, (Elmatic album version s/o to @willsessions #elmatic) but it was too difficult to choose just 1 Dilla beat, so I mashed 8 of them. Rest in peace, Mr. Yancy. 🙏🏾❤️💯🐐 Enjoy y’all.
