tete-a-tete

Through a concealed door, you enter some sort of basement without windows. The room is badly lit and just one hesitant bulb provides a hint of weak yellow light for the entire room. Pile upon pile of vinyl reach up to ceilings and prevent the light from penetrating the shadows. The electric transformers of the recording equipment and the samplers exude a choking heat. Two pairs of record players and as many loudspeakers occupy opposite ends of the small studio. Your heartbeat increases as you realise the honour and privilege you’ve been granted, of being allowed to rummage freely, for more than one hour, through the entire vinyl collection of a DJ impassioned by music and incessantly trying to make you discover new records.
