Sometimes, I'm just in the mood for some fun, poppy songs to cheer me up, or go along with a perfect day, or inspire me during the last 10 minutes of my one mile run. Sure, some of the songs are a little cheesy. But most of them coincide with some happy part of my memory or trigger a certain funny image. Like the Trio song always reminds me of the Volkswagon commercial where two guys find a couch on the side of the road. And that thought triggers the memory that the song was first in the movie Empire Records. And that thought reminds me of this one time I went to Tower Records and there was a giant sign that said "Song from VW commercial here". Seriously, the staff at Tower was so inundated with requests of "hey, what's that song, you know that one" that they needed to make a sign with an arrow that declared to all non-audiophiles that your music is here, stop asking. I did not buy the album that day! I just wrote down the name and bought it at Boo Boo's for $1. Happy times.
