I went down a nostalgic rabbit hole during my "music research" phase this week. There were two theme options that came to mind for this mix: 1. The Barbie Movie and 2. Women's World Cup Soccer (Futbol)
Since my brain works on mashups all day long anyway, it decided to explore the possibility of a 'mashup theme'... hence "Jock Jams Barbie".
In the 90's there was a very popular 5 disc CD series called "Jock Jams". It was the first kind of "mainstream DJ mixtape" that a lot of gyms and fitness instructors used back then (stadiums as well).
This week's mix is inspired by those Jock Jams albums but with a slight feminine theme (for Barbie vibes and 'girl power' World Cup vibes).
90's dance tunes, EDM, 2000's pop, a little hip hop, 90's Miami Bass. Lots of big 'Stadium Anthem' type energy.
