My goal this week was to put together a Justin Timberlake themed mix, using some of his classic hits along side some of our favorite artists from the early and mid 2000's.
Going down the rabbit hole of songs from this era brought up loads of fun memories from when I used to DJ at various college bars in Southern California from 2002-2007. It was such a fun time for music. Pop and Hip Hop could be blended together to create some magical moments for large crowds.
This week's mix is somewhat of a recreation of the DJ set I did during those years. The overall energy varies from medium to hot. Lots of "sing-a-long" pop favorites mixed with some all time great hip hop dance tunes.
Artists include Justin Timberlake, 50 cent, Eve, Eminem, NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, Snoop, 2pac, Juvenile, Mariah, Beyonce, JLo, Backstreet, E40 and more! BPM starts at 108 and builds towards 133 in the last 10 minutes. Lyrics are clean but edgy (PG-13).
