Composer-performers Guy Harries and Seth Ayyaz discuss how the music of the Middle East has influenced their experimentations with sound. Guy Harries' work consists mostly of the interactive combination of live electronics and acoustic instruments, as well as the use of multimedia. He performs with flute, voice and electronics. Seth Ayyaz spans live electronics, free improvisation, noise and electroacoustics. He is a practitioner of Arabic music - principally nay (end-blown flute) ghaita (reed pipe) and hand percussion (darbuka and daf).
