On February 14, 1970 David Mancuso opened the doors to his Loft space at 647 Broadway and threw his first Love Saves the Day party which then became known as The Loft. David told me this is the loft space that he continued to dream about. Here is a tribute to that loft where he lived through 1973 with some of the songs he played in those early years. This is pre-disco and before the first commercial 12-inch was released so the songs are all album tracks with one exception - I have put on a later longer and live version of The Equals song David used to play but I think you'll like it. If you want to listen to more Loft-related mixes, David interviews and his own live set at our London Loft Party, you can check out this playlist: https://www.mixcloud.com/colleencosmomurphy/playlists/david-mancuso-tributes/ Love Saves the Day!
