Sandra Donnellan interviewed local man Darren Forde about his efforts to install defibrillators on Craogh Patrick for pilgrims and others who may suffer heart attacks on the holy mountain.
In June of this year, Darren, who is an engineer from Hollymount in Co. Mayo, set about raising funds for the defibrillators. In a numberof weeks, with the generosity of local sponsors, he received the €8,000 funding necessary to purchase the two machines, one of which will be kept half way up the mountain and the other on the summit.
