I had the pleasure of catching London-based DJ and producer Roska live at Sonar 2010 on Mary Anne Hobbs' stage and had an absolute blast. Back then he contributed greatly to create the "UK Funky" genre that blends electronic dance music of the 2000s and African/Caribbean rhythms. Whilst in many eyes, Roska is still shaping UK Funky standards, his sound has been transforming into something new over the last 18 months. He's racking up extensive airplay on both Rinse and Radio 1 and in effect redefining what people have come to expect over the past 4 years.
He took some time out of his DJ/producer/label-owner schedule and stopped by Jubilee's Fireworks on Brooklynradio.com for a memorable guestmix. Enjoy!
